This series of Koi paintings is inspired by an ornamental pond near my parents home that I visited often when I was convalescing following a period of mental illness.
It reflects the swirling beauty I saw and my belief in the importance of universal access to the natural world and public art for everyone to experience. I thank the owners of that pond who brought such pleasure and comfort to me at a time of deep personal sadness and sorrow. It lifted me up for one brief, glorious moment.
My aim is to share this moment with you all.
