About Me
My job as an artist is to feel and respond. As a younger adult, this sensitivity, this perception, this spectrum of feelings were seen as a hindrance, an oddity. Now it is my greatest strength.
I am an artist who uses vibrant colour, strong contrasts and decoration. My artistic practice is fuelled by a deep fascination with the world and the beings in it, be it human or from the natural world, and the joys and sorrows of existence. I exhibit from time to time and my work can be found in private collections throughout the UK.
Mental health is a particular personal focus and in 2020 I collaborated with Time to Talk Mental Health UK on Creative Expessions: Freedom through Poetry and Art.
I work with many different painting and drawing materials, with a preference for acrylic, ink, watercolour and colour pencils (sometimes together), creating textured layers that convey a sense of depth and emotion. I also design digital patterns and physical prototypes for apparel and accessories through my brand English Romantic Design.
From time to time, I also lead painting, drawing and mixed media workshops.
I invite you to explore the colourful spectrum of existence and to enjoy natural universal beauty.
I live and work in Nottinghamshire in England and I am a member of the Nottingham Society of Artists.
